All couriers apply surcharges for consignments that exceed size, weight limits, or don't strictly comply with their guidelines. We've outlined most of the surcharges for FedEx Domestic on our FedEx Domestic Surcharge Page.
While we've made this list at thorough as possible, please note that it is subject to change and may not include every surcharge.
As long as your parcel is measured and weighed correctly, and packed securely, you won’t have to worry about any extra charges.
Yes. You can book FedEx domestic services through Interparcel to send parcels between Australian addresses. Delivery times depend on the service and distance. Express services between major metro areas can arrive as quickly as the next business day, while regional and remote areas usually take longer, typically 2-7 business days. Enter your pickup and delivery postcodes in the Interparcel quote tool to view live transit estimates.
After booking, you’ll receive a tracking number and link. You can track your shipment on the Interparcel Tracking page or directly through the FedEx website to see real-time updates from collection to delivery. Delivery notifications and exception scans can also be viewed in your Interparcel account.
Yes. Limits vary by service. Standard parcel services have maximum dimensions and a per-piece weight cap, while oversize or heavier items may need to travel on a freight service. Enter your parcel’s weight and dimensions when quoting to see eligible FedEx options. Surcharges may apply for long or heavy items.
FedEx cannot deliver to PO Boxes. For street addresses, Signature on Delivery is the default. In some cases, you can request Authority to Leave (ATL) at checkout with Interparcel, allowing the driver to leave the parcel in a safe location at your risk.
Most non-hazardous, boxed items are accepted. Dangerous goods, some liquids, and other restricted items cannot be sent through Interparcel. Pack your shipment in a strong new box with internal cushioning, seal all seams securely, and attach the Interparcel label flat on the parcel, removing any old labels. Always check the Prohibited & Restricted Items list before booking.
