Interparcel is honoured to be featured in the AFR Fast 100 2022 List.
The AFR Fast 100 List celebrates the fast-growing businesses in the country. Interparcel was also included in the 2021 list, so we’re grateful to be featured again after a busy year.
Looking back on 2022, we’ve added new features to our multicarrier shipping solution, partnered with some incredible charity organisations, and received a highly recommended rating from the Australian Achiever Awards for customer satisfaction.
Coming from humble beginnings, all of us at Interparcel are grateful to be recognised by prestigious institutions like the Australian Financial Review. If you’re not familiar with our story, here’s how we got to where we are.
How Interparcel Started
Interparcel was first launched on June 2, 2009. There were only three people in the company. Two directors, Mark and Sarah, and our CEO, Steve Zammit. After the website went live, they all sat around the computer waiting for the first delivery order to come through.
It happened seven minutes later.
As more orders started to come in, Interparcel began hiring more team members. They gathered in a tiny office and sat together as a family. Everyone held multiple roles and pitched in wherever they could.
Where We Are Today
Interparcel has continued to grow, and today there are multiple departments, team leaders and a solid structure. Four of the six people in our leadership team are women and 85% of the workforce is female. We’ve even welcomed ten babies since we first launched the business.
Our Values
The one thing that hasn’t changed is our values. Not only do we stand for inclusivity, fairness, openness, trust and integrity, but we also have defined our core company values to shape our culture and ensure we follow them with every business decision we make. These are:
- Adaptability: We embrace change and support staff through times of transition.
- Personal Development: We encourage colleagues to better themselves through formal and informal training.
- Integrity: We practice honesty and fairness in all interactions with colleagues, customers, clients and vendors.
- Collaborative: We recognise achieving our company goals requires a diverse group of people with unique talents and abilities to come together.
- Innovative: We will lead the industry by example by producing existing and unique solutions that exceed customer expectations.
We take this approach with our clients and customers. Our sales and service team are always in close contact with our clients. We value their input and develop new technology and update the features in our products based on their feedback
How We Work
Our office provides different spaces where we encourage creativity and companionship. We believe in training and motivating people to help bring out the best in them. We want our team members to grow and learn with the company.
Interparcel believes in leaders, not authority bosses. Our passion is helping our team and our customers. Our leaders work to motivate, inspire and encourage them to enjoy their work. We believe that’s when the best results come.
What Interparcel Has Achieved
Interparcel has achieved some incredible outcomes, particularly in the past 12 months.
One of our proudest moments was receiving a highly recommended rating from the Australian Achiever Awards. Interparcel scored 91.95% for customer satisfaction. This achievement helped confirm our client-focus approach works.
Interparcel was also nominated as the Best Cross-Border Shipping Solution in the 4th annual National Online Retailers Association Solution Partner Awards. Stay tuned to see if we become a finalist!
This year even saw the introduction of a few highly requested features from our customers. Some of the ways we’ve reduced the complexity of parcel delivery include:
- The ability to connect multiple accounts from an ecommerce platform
- The Interparcel Print Manager
- The Interparcel Shopify App
Our team also designed a calendar full of expert tips for the 2022 ecommerce peak sales season and a strategy guide for shipping and fulfilment for 2023 and beyond.
How We Give Back
One of the other passions in the Interparcel office is giving back to the community. In 2022, we had the pleasure of teaming up with several incredible organisations. Some of the highlights include:
- Interparcel’s Managing Director, Steve Zammit, and other CEOs raising $104,348 for Ronald McDonald House Charities Sydney as part of the CEO Walk in My Shoes program.
- Teaming up with Joel Black to run a fundraising contest in support of pregnancy and infant loss.
- Our Digital Marketing Specialist, Laura Hurtado, taking on the 3 Peaks Challenge and raised $22,400 with her group for RMHCS.
- Ten Interparcel team members visited the RMHC in Randwick to cook meals for the parents and carers staying at the facility.
- Renewing our sponsorship of Ocean Summer, the koala we adopted at Port Macquarie Koala Hospital.
Thank you to All Our Customers
None of these accomplishments would be possible without the amazing team at Interparcel and our incredible customers. We are so grateful to be featured in the AFR Fast 100 2022 List and are thankful to be recognised by trusted establishments such as the Australian Financial Review.
We look forward to what 2023 has to offer, and we will continue to look for innovative ways to reduce the complexity of parcel delivery for you all!
