Crafting 100% handmade fashion for pets, The Sophisticated Pet, was a local business born out of a pure love for animals. Now able to take flight (quite literally) due to Interparcel's network, they deliver their handmade fashion worldwide.
A female-led business in the heart of Sydney, since 2013, The Sophisticated Pet crafts 100% handmade fashion for pets. Their catalog includes bandanas, beanies, bow ties, hoodies and collars and leads. A percentage of sales go directly back to local rescues.
What was your background in business?
I previously ran an online bookstore before deciding to follow my lifelong passion for animals and thus The Sophisticated Pet was born.

This service model gives her the option to consolidate her international orders in to a daily, weekly or fortnightly pickup, which has greatly reduced the cost of shipping to countries such as the USA. What's next for The Sophisticated Pet?
Now that we have tested the waters in the U.S with very little marketing, we can't wait to explore other international opportunities with Interparcel.
